Proverbs:
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
The book of Proverbs can be hard to understand if you read it in the fleshly spirit. When we are seeking God’s guidance, truly seeking God’s guidance then the Proverbs becomes a life line.
When I first began to study them I had been praying and asking God how do You want me to live, how am I supposed to behave? I heard in my spirit “Proverbs”. I struggled with this book of the Bible when I would read it. My physical body would cringe and my mind would scream how am I supposed to understand this? I now understand that my flesh and my mind were being convicted of the sin in my life and was struggling against the words I was reading.
Did you get that? It’s worth repeating! My fleshly pride, desires and not wanting to see the sin in my life; all things of satan was fighting to keep me in sin. God was showing and teaching me; bringing to light all those sins so I could see them ask forgiveness and be free of them. If Christ Jesus sets you free you are free indeed! I now love God’s Word and His wonderful guidance. Just as I asked today what to write about; (I smile) God’s prompting voice said to me” Proverbs 2:10″ so I go to look it up and it says “when wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul.”
I will add more now so the point is clearer for you.
Proverbs 2:1-12 1 My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commandments within you, 2 so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; 3 yes if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, 4 if you seek her (wisdom) as silver and search for her as for Hidden treasures; 5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; 8 He guards the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints. 9 then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path. 10 when wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, 11 discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you, 12 to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things.
Lord in Jesus name I thank You for Your mighty Word and wisdom. You are, You were, and You will always be God alone. You are perfect in all of Your ways. You Jesus are the way and the truth and the life. John 1:1 says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God and through Him all things were created. I thank You that you sent Your Son Jesus to love and teach us Your way. All Your ways are good. Lord let us continue to grow in You, to look more like Jesus. To love ALL in goodness and kindness. Know words matter and all we meet are potential believers in our Savior. Thank You Lord we ask this in Jesus precious, powerful name! Amen!
