What does God say about aliens / strangers? Are we really Christ followers?
Exodus 22:21-24 You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
Do we fear God or man?
Leviticus 19:33-34 And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him. The stranger who dwells among you shall be as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Were any of us not strangers in this land? Do we fear God or man? We are all aliens to God in our sin. Only by God’s gift of His only begotten Son Jesus can we come to the Father. Jesus our Savior who gave His life that we might have life. Are we not all gifted what Jesus offered?
Colossians 1:19-22 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight-
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the GIFT of GOD not works, lest anyone should boast.
Do we fear God or man? Are we listening?
Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor, therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
