Anchor?

How Strongly are we anchored in God’s word? Can we witness with the confidence that we are speaking the truth of God’s word? Do we read and study God’s word with the intent to truly know it’s teachings, it’s truths? When God made it clear to me I had to know His word, His truths, to know Him and to walk in His ways I struggled with it, prayed and God answered. God would not require anything of us that He has not made clear to us. Is our anchor sunk deep in God’s word and understanding? How confident are we that our words and actions reflect God’s love? We are none perfect, we are humans. We make mistakes but it is in admitting and correcting that we still can display God’s life in us. When I prayed “God fix me,” I wanted it to happen instantly. Well I am thankful to say that God has not given up on me. I have come to realize that God corrects attitudes and behaviors as we walk and talk with Him. May God give us all the understanding of His word that we may walk in it.

2 Timothy 2:15-16 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH.

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, ” All authority has been given Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen

To teach we must know God’s word and believe God’s word not twisting it to fit our lives but letting it change our lives.

James 3:1-2 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgement. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, also able to bridle the whole body.

We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Being a witness is different than a teacher. As witnesses our words and actions reflect the love of God and we point others to God and His word. The Holy Spirit , the Spirit of Truth is the perfect teacher and leader.

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Are we teachable? The Holy Spirit will never go against God’s word. Let us anchor ourselves in these last days deep in God’s word for love, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, gentleness, self control, and to be faithful to God’s commandments.

Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
