Are We One Nation Under God?

1 John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk just as He walked.

Matthew 5:3-10 Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Blessed are they who know their need for our Savior). Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for My names sake for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:21-22 You have heard it said to those of old you shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgement, but I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgement.

In the Sermon On The Mount Jesus unpacked the Ten Commandments. forgive us Lord God our Father for we have all sinned and fallen short of Your glory.

Isaiah 58:6 Is this not the fast I have chosen; to loose the bonds of wickedness to undo the heavy burdens to let the oppressed go free and that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring the poor to your house who are cast out; when you see the naked that you cover him, and not hide from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the Lord God shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call and the Lord will answer; you shall cry and He will say here I am. If you take away the yoke from your mist, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, if you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday. The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, whose water does not fail. Those among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of the Streets to Dwell in. If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My Holy Day and call the Sabbath a delight, the Holy Day a delight, the Holy day of the Lord honorable, and shall honor Him not doing your own ways nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words, then you shall delight yourself in the Lord, and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Deuteronomy 10:18-19 He administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger giving him food and clothing. Therefore love the stranger for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Psalm 41:1-3 Blessed is he who considers the poor. The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive and He will be blessed on the earth. You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness, You will sustain him on his sickbed.

James 2:8 If you really fulfill the whole law according to the scripture; you shall love your neighbor as yourself you do well.

Luke 10:29-37 but wanting to justify himself said to Jesus, “and who is my neighbor”? Then Jesus answered and said ” A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road, and when he saw him, he passed on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side, but a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii gave them to the innkeeper and said to him “take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you. So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him?” And he said ” he who showed mercy on him. Then Jesus said to him, “go and do likewise.”

Lord I thank You for Your mercy, kindness, and patience with us Your wayward sheep, for like sheep we have all strayed from Your perfect word. Lord I ask that You bring us to Your word and give us understanding to know and follow our one true Shepard Jesus Christ You Son the perfect sacrifice for us all. Lord God forgive us for our sin in falling so short of Your glory. Return to us Your guiding hand and true teaching of the way, the truth and the life Jesus. In Jesus name I ask this. Thank You for Your love and mercy. Amen

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
