Arise

Luke 15:11-22 Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood. And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. Then he joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed the swine. And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him any thing. But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ But the Father!! said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us make merry; this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. And they began to be merry.

Luke 15:7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

Luke 15:10 Like wise, I say to you there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

This son got lured away by what he thought the world had to offer. He was beaten down by the things he thought would be so wonderful. “But the Father!! Our perfect Father in heaven sees the scares and the pain and the hurt that we got from believing the lies of the world. Our heavenly Father doesn’t beat us more but welcomes us home with love, mercy, compassion, healing, and restoration. The Father says Arise come home.

Luke 10:34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn and took care of him.

1 John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Lord, thank You for Your perfect word. Lord, thank You when we come to You, You welcome us home pouring on love, mercy, and compassion. Lord, in Your perfect Son’s name Jesus The Christ. Help us Your people to rise up and give that which we have received so freely from You. Amen

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
