2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good work.
In praying the Lords prayer one day I asked “Lord what does the part of Matthew 6:12 really mean?” Matthew 6:12 and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. God answered this pretty quickly with an example and scripture. I had a client that forgot her appointment and was very contrite about it and said she would come right then and I could take the 15 minutes off her time and still charge her for the time. I stayed but hadn’t planned to cut her time or charge her extra. The Lord then lead me to the parable of the debtor.
Matthew 18:23-25 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king which would take account of his servants, and when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents, but forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife and children and all that he had and payment to be made. The servant, therefore fell down and worshiped him saying lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion and loosed him and forgave him the debt, but the same servant went out and found one of his fellow servants, which owed him an 100 pence and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat saying pay me that you owe and his fellow servant fell down at his feet and besought him saying, have patience with me and I will pay you all, and he would not but went and cast him in prison till he should pay the debt. So when his fellow servants saw what was done they were very sorry and came and told unto their lord all that was done. Then his lord, after that he had called him and said unto him O you wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt because you desired me to. Should not you also have compassion on your fellow servant, even as I had pity on you? His lord was wroth and delivered him to the tormentors till he should pay all that was due unto him. So like wise shall My heavenly Father do also unto you if you from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
Father thank You for Your perfect word in teaching us. In Jesus name Lord we are still flesh please remind us, be patient with us in learning how to forgive as You forgive. My sins were and are so many Lord there is nothing I should hold back forgiveness for. Help us to let go of our hurt and anger. Lord Jesus help us look to You and see Your glory the true Savior who paid all our sin debt. Thank You Jesus that all sin is forgiven in Your sacrifice. When I feel hurt help me to look to You. Blessed be the Lamb who was slain Holy Holy Holy is the Lamb of God. AMEN
Your mercies are new every morning!
