What are we asking God for? What are we seeking from God’s word? What doors are we really knocking on? Are we asking, seeking , knocking to speak the truth of God’s word, to follow God’s word rightly, to walk in it?
Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
James 4:1-3 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
What are we asking God for? Do we trust God to answer?
Luke 18:1 Then he spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not loose heart
Romans 12:17-18 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
Jesus came to seek and save. Jesus healed the sick, fed the thousands, raised the dead, and loved and prayed for those who were against Him, those who sent Him to the cross. Will we follow Jesus teaching, Jesus example? Lord, God, Give us a new heart to love.
