Berea?

It is written that there are many false teachers in the world from Jesus time and through this day. Those who twist the Word of God to suit themselves either for profit or because they are confused. We as believers have to be more like those in Berea that heard Paul’s teaching but then searched the Word to see if it was true. God’s Word is plain it needs no interpretation! So many have done this through history we have become blinded and confused. I confess, I struggled with this and on some points I still do because of things I have been taught or heard in the past. God is not a God of confusion! God makes plain what He expects of us. How else would we be told to obey His commandments? Are not His commandments simple enough for a child to understand? Are not all His examples of good and evil clear from Adam and Eve to Jesus Himself?

2 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, the no prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this Book.

Acts 17:10-11 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more fair minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, AND SEARCHED THE SCRIPTURES DAILY TO FIND OUT WHETHER THESE THINGS WERE SO.

Many religions have come and gone yet God’s Word never changes for God is the same yesterday, today and forever more.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

2 Timothy 2:15-17 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane babbling, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of the sort.

2 Timothy 2:7 Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you all understanding.

AMEN

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
