Calling?

Jesus calls us to Him in love. He says “Come to the table, I have all you need, love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, self control.” Jesus is long-suffering and knows our struggles. Jesus call is gentle and loving.

1 Kings 19:11-13 Then He said “Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountain and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire A STILL SMALL VOICE. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him and said, “What are you doing here Elijah?”

What are we doing here? Are we speaking and walking in a way that draws others to Jesus?

1 Peter 2:11-12 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul having your conduct honorable among the gentiles, that when they speak against you as evil doers, they may by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

What kind of fruit are we bearing by our words and conduct?

James 1:19-20 So then, my beloved brethren let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Blessed be our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
