Change?

As Christ followers we would know the story of Moses and that he was chosen to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt to a new land. Have we read carefully the circumstances of the Hebrew’s / Israelite’s that God made a way out of Egypt for them? The king of Egypt saw the number and strength of the Hebrews and became fearful that they would overtake them one day. The king of Egypt started treating them as slaves out of his own fear. The king even commanded that their sons born to them be murdered out of his own fear. God called Moses to lead the Hebrew’s out of bondage, out of Egypt. God commanded the Hebrew’s to NEVER mistreat the strange, alien, immigrant as they had been treated by the Egyptians. When the Hebrew’s did mistreat the strangers among them God punished the Hebrew’s sending them into slavery in other nations. God is God ALONE. Are we listening? Will we listen? The cost can be very high for disobeying God much higher than mans.

Leviticus 19:33-34 And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall NOT mistreat him. The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you, as one of you, and you shall love him as yourself for you were strangers in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.

Unless we are full blooded American Indian we are all strangers in this land. America has been given a great gift from God. Freedom to worship, freedom of religion. Everyone in this country has this right in the constitution. When one’s rights get taken then we can all loose our rights. God did not call us to force others to believe as we do but to be a light, a city on a hill that shine God’s love, God’s way. If we say we are Christ followers we ought to walk in Christ ways and teaching that others see Christ in us, God’s love.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment, but he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

James 1:20 The wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

It is written that we are to treat others as we WANT to be treated. This is not conditional on how others treat us.

Leviticus 19:18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people but you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Luke 6:31 And just as you want men to do to you, you shall also do to them likewise.

1 Samuel 15:22 So Samuel said: Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in OBEYING the voice of the Lord? Behold, to OBEY is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams.

Are we listening? Will we listen?

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
