Compassion

Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who can not sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

This is empathy. He has compassion for us. Should we not have compassion and empathy for others? Some times it’s hard for us to do this because we have not experienced what others may be walking through.

James 2:6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?

If we had been hungry and no way to get food, if we had been sick and no way to get help would we see things differently? If we lived in fear and had no shelter would we see things differently?

James 2:13 For judgement is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgement.

Jesus came not to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through Him. He still has the same compassion and empathy for us all, for we are God’s creation.

Romans 9:21 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Matthew 5:44-45 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; For He makes the sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Blessed be our High Priest by whom we can cry Abba. Thank You Jesus

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
