Do we give away our control? Before we had the written word of God those who did have it controlled what the people were told to believe. Often the Word of God was used as a weapon to control others or to do evil and some still do today. William Tyndale and others fought and died to bring us the written word of God in a language we could read and understand so the people could no longer be deceived. Do we still give away our control? There are those who still tell us only what they want us to know and believe. We can find more information today than ever before but we don’t use the tools we have. Every law, every bill, every thing about how our government works and how it is supposed to work, science, history, nature and the world around us is at our fingertips and we still give away our control. God’s word is a beautiful teaching of history and in learning from it we can do better. God’s word is a wonderful guide to life everlasting peace, joy, goodness, kindness, self control, and so much more. God’s word is still perfect and relevant today. God’s word can help us discern the truth from a lie for the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. Each of us can make a choice to study to show ourselves approved a workman that need not be ashamed.
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourselves approved to God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that he man of God may be complete, throughly equipped for every GOOD work.
