How often do we return to Egypt? How often do our minds move back to Egypt? When the Lord, God brought the Israelites out of Egypt He told them never to return there. God gave them commandments and set out instructions and rules for them to follow so they did not go back there in their own behavior. The Egyptian king became fearful the Hebrews would become so great in number that they would over take them and destroy them. Do our minds not go to the same thinking? How often do we believe the things we hear about how this one or that one want to destroy this group or this race and become fearful? Many times things have been claimed and yet has not come to pass. God commanded His people to never go back the way of Egypt. We have though and Hitler is one we can all recognize. He started by making people believe all their woes were due to the Jews. A little leaven leavens a whole lump and a little hate and fear can leaven a lot of people.
Matthew 7:12 Therefore whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the prophets.
We all want to be treated with love, kindness, gentleness, goodness, and honesty. It has to start with God’s people! God’s people are the ones God gave the commandments and instructions to!
Jesus said it and it is written:
A new commandment I give you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
John 14:15 If you love Me keep My commandments.
Can we be a separate people? God’s people?
