Esther earned a place in history. Why did Esther earn a place in God’s word to teach us? Esther’s parents were killed and her uncle took her in, they were exiled, then king Ahasuerus decides to chose himself a new queen from all the beautiful virgins in the kingdom. Esther a Jew and a beautiful virgin was taken to be used and possibly discarded by the king. Esther did as the law required and did it with honor, respect, and wisdom. Esther earned the respect of all those in king Ahasueras palace and of king Ahasueras and was able to be used by God to save the Jewish nation from genocide. We, as women of God can learn from Esther. Our words matter, our behavior matters, our attitudes matter, we can make a difference in the world around us.
Esther 2:15 Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. AND ESTHER OBTAINED FAVOR IN THE SIGHT OF ALL WHO SAW HER.
1 Peter 3:3-4 Do not let your adornment be merely outward, arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel, rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
Proverbs 11:13 A talebearer reveals secrets but he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.
When we look within to our own behavior we accomplish much more than looking at others behavior. God is the reader of our hearts and nothing is hidden from God.
