What is living by faith?
Habakkuk 2:4 Behold, the proud, his soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by faith.
What does living by faith look like? Jesus told us, taught us, and left us His example.
John 8:29 “And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, FOR I ALWAYS DO THOSE THINGS THAT PLEASE HIM.”
1 Samuel 15:22 So Samuel said: Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? BEHOLD, TO OBEY IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE, AND TO HEED THAN THE FAT OF RAMS.
John 14:15 “If you love Me keep My commandments.”
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 2:6 For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, AND lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Can we live by faith? Will we test every thing to see if it lines up with God’s truth, God’s commandments, God’s Word?
John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Matthew 12:25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
The evil one pushes for hate and division to make us weak. Pray without ceasing.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.
Can we live by faith?
Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God.
Recently, the pain of the people in the world weighed heavy on me. Knowing God knows all things, I prayed: “Lord I do not know what to pray, Help me.” God answered in my spirit by His Holy Spirit: “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” This made me smile and cry. God is in control and He gave Jesus His Son all authority over heaven and earth. Can we live by faith?
