Faithful?

Matthew 25:23 His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of the lord.

Being faithful over a few? Do we avoid gossip? Do we avoid repeating things we are not sure are true? Do we keep the confidence of the person who may have privately asked us to pray for something in their lives? Do we do our best to help others when asked? Do we keep our conduct honorable? We don’t steal, don’t kill even with our words? We don’t bear false witness (gossip)? We don’t commit adultery? We do love our neighbors as ourselves? We treat others as we want them to treat us; even if they don’t treat us the way we want to be treated?

Being a follower of Jesus Christ in this world means we are truly different from this world in our behavior and conduct. We can’t do it on our own. We need God’s firm foundation; His word written on the tables of our hearts, His Holy Spirit for comfort, guidance, support, all the joy, goodness, love, and tenderness of God. Jesus knows how it feels to be in these vessels of clay. Jesus is our Shepard. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

Lord, thank You for all You have done and that You do for us each day. Again we ask Your help to put away the desires of the flesh to do those things that aren’t pleasing to You and to increase the desire to do those things that do please You. In Jesus name amen.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
