False teachers, false preachers, false pastors can we recognize them? Do we not think we should question them?
Matthew 7:15-16 Beware false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles?
Are they bearing the fruit of the Spirit? Love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, and self control. Do we see these in their words and their actions?
Proverbs 14:15 The simple believes every word, but the prudent considers well his steps.
Matthew 5:18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are in this book; and if any one takes away from this prophecy, God will take away his part from the book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Many speculate the meanings of the things in God’s word. What if we accepted God’s word just as it is written? Some things were written to certain people and were given to us for teaching, learning from those before us. God’s promises and commandments are for us all. We have to take all God’s word, for He gave all scripture for teaching, training, correcting man for every good work.
2 Timothy 2:15-16 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babbling, for they will increase to more ungodliness.
Thank You Lord for Your Word. You gave us Your beautiful Word, Your Son, Your Holy Spirit. Lead us in Your way everlasting in Jesus name amen.
