Are we behaving as fools or wise?
Proverbs 29:11 A fool vents all his feelings but a wise man holds them back.
How often do we think our opinion is so much more important than another persons?
Proverbs 18:2 A fool has no delight in understanding but in expressing his own heart.
Proverbs 18:6-7 A fool’s lips enter into contention, and his mouth calls for blows. A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
Will we turn to God for the righteous teaching of His wisdom?
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given him.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
The more we study to know God’s word, God’s way, the better equipped we are at responding in an honest, respectful, kind, loving, peaceful, and self controlled way to others. As we have seen lies take lives, cause division, and hate. The devil is the father of lies. How we respond to others needs to be based in the teaching of Jesus. Can we be slow to speak, quick to listen? Can we breathe a prayer before we speak in anger. Anger begets anger. If we do not respond to anger with anger it fizzles out. Love covers a multitude of sins. Let us love in word and deed.
