Foundation?

When God brought the Hebrews out of Egypt He gave Moses the Ten Commandments, the foundation of God’s people! When Jesus asked Peter who he thought He is Peter confessed that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus told Peter He would build His church upon him and the gates of hades would not prevail against it. God’s word, Christ’s people still prevail today. Think about it; Peter stood up at pentecost and taught people from all nations and languages and they were able to understand Peter because God opened their ears to hear. The church began to grow. God’s word is published in many languages and is available in paper, internet, and many apps. God’s word has prevailed and will never die! Will we read it? Are we listening?

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

Matthew 16:17-18 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father in heaven. And I also say, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hades will not prevail against it.”

John 14:15 If you love Me keep My commandments.

1 John 5:2-3 By this we know that we love the children of God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross, and follow Me.”

Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much that depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.

Who are we following?

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
