Do we freely give?
Matthew 10:7-8 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand; heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.’
Jesus freely gave His life for us that we might be saved. He forgives, has mercy, and heals our hearts and minds. How often do we freely give the mercy, grace, and forgiveness that we have been given?
Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
There are things we find hard to forgive. They hung Jesus on a cross. Jesus still said “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” God is the only reader of our hearts. God is the only one who knows every detail of our lives, every thing that shaped who we are. Our God who knows all things and is loving and merciful.
Deuteronomy 32:35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time; For the day of their calamity is at hand, and things to come hasten upon them.
Romans 12:19-21 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty give him drink; for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head. Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.
If things are not going the way we believe they should are we right or is God the One who knows all things right? Should we not wait upon the Lord? You will know them by their fruits. What kind of fruit are we producing?
Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Are we true believers? Who is our neighbor?
Blessed be our God and Father, blessed be our Lord, King, and Savior Jesus Christ, blessed be our Gift the Holy Spirit.
