Are we bearing good fruit? Are we able to recognize good fruit from bad fruit?
Matthew 3:8 Therefore bear fruit worthy of repentance, and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
This was spoken to the religious leaders of that time. The sadducees and the pharisees. Do we wait and look for the fruit of those who shout about being christian? Do we shout about being christian or do we as called, walk out our faith each day?
Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things the Lord hates, yes seven are an abomination to Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who sows discord among brethren.
Do we work at getting wisdom, at getting understanding so we are not easily lied to?
Proverbs 7:4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call understanding your nearest kin.
Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.
Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Lord, I thank You for it gives us hope that neighbors are taking in neighbors. Lord, let all Your people be more like Jesus to consider others above ourselves. You Jesus are King and Shepherd. Lead us to be Your light in love, gentleness, kindness, and peace. In Your precious name amen.
