James 1:17, Every good and perfect gift comes from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
In this time of new age and the things that are presented as healing modalities how do we know Gods gift? Our best defense is a good offense. Know Gods word! God will never go against His word.
Exodus 20, (please read for yourself as I have condensed)
You shall have no other Gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image any likeness of any thing that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. I am the Lord your God, I am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. Honor your father and mother that yours days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet anything that your neighbor has.
Matthew Chapter 5-7, In these chapters Jesus unpacks Gods commandments and expands our understanding of them.
Galatians 5:22-23, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such there is no law.
1 Corinthians 12:7-11, But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of ALL: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another different kinds of tongues, to another interpretation of tongues, but the same Spirit works all these things distributing to each one individually as He wills.
1 Corinthians 13:1-7, Though I speak with tongues of men and of angels but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. Though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. Though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
John 14:12-14, Most assuredly, I say to you he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also, and greater works than these he will do because I go to My Father, and what ever you ask in My name that I will do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name I will do it.
John 3:16-17, For God so LOVED the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that through him the world might be saved.
1 John 4:16, And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
Jesus Lord I thank You for Your every blessing. I thank You for Your perfect plan for us. You gave us a written plan for a good life, then You gave your life that we may receive the gift of eternal life in Your presence. Your presence is worth more than gold yes more than fine gold. Even now Jesus we know You never left us but that You prayed the Father to give us of Your Holy Spirit that we would never fight this fight alone in this world. Lord in Jesus name help us to always know the truth and leading of Your word and protect us from the evil one. To you Lord the only one who can keep our feet from stumbling. Your greatness is unsearchable. Blessed be our God the Father, Jesus our Savior and King who fights for us forever and always. Amen
