Proverbs 19:17 He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has give.
Matthew 5:42 Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.
How many of us has fallen on hard times? How many of us has borrowed from mom, dad, or another family member? How many of us returned home because we just couldn’t make it on our own yet? How many of us has borrowed from a bank? How many of us has had someone come by with a gift because God sent them by knowing our struggles? How many of us can see into others hearts and know the pain of loosing everything and having to start over again? Haven’t we all been in one of these positions before? God says I require mercy and not sacrifice.
Psalms 41:1-3 Blessed is he who considers the poor the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; you will sustain hime on his sick bed.
Lord, we thank You for all You have given us. Every good and perfect gift comes from You. Help us to see a need and do what we can to help meet it. Freely we have been given. Help us freely give. In Jesus name amen.
