Proverbs tells us that a good name, reputation, character is to be chosen over riches. Have we thought about Jesus character? Do we examine our own? Do we say we believe in Jesus and fix our goal to be more like Him? Jesus said there would be false teachers and we would know them by their fruits, actions, character. I am not speaking of mistakes but consistent ways of speaking and acting. We all sin and fall short but God will not let us utterly fall but correct us if we are willing to be corrected and take instruction.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
Isaiah 53:9 And they made His grave with the wicked but with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth.
God so loved His creation that He sent His only begotten Son to show us Himself, the Father. Jesus did not leave us orphans to figure it out on our own.
John 14:9-10 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show me the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and The Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.
John 14:18 I will not to leave you orphans.
John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 16:9:8-11 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement: of sin because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to the Father and you see Me no more; of judgement, because the ruler of this world is judged.
When we know the fruits, the character that the Holy Spirit produces in us: love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, patience, self control, and love covers a multitude of sin. Are we listening?
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ALL Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of GOD may be complete, throughly equipped for every good work.
Are we listening? If we love God we will love our neighbor. Are we listening? Jesus loves, forgives, saves. The devil only seeks to destroy lives, health, families, friends.
PUT ON GOD’S ARMOR, GOD’S WORD FOR IT IS WRITTEN!
