God’s Hand!

Seems there are those who want to spread fear. Do they want us to fear or are they afraid? Have you broken any laws? Have you cheated on your taxes? Have you done any unlawful acts? If our answer is no then why would we fear? We who are believers are to live by a higher law and God’s law tells us to tell the truth always, not to kill, steal, covet, bear false witness, to love others as ourselves and do no harm. What do we have to fear? If God is for us who can be against us.

Romans 13:1-6 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is NO authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinances of God, and those who resist will bring judgement on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing.

There is an old saying, “Me thinks you do protest to much.” If we have done no evil, broken no laws why should we be afraid?

Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of sound mind.

Psalm 37:3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

I love Psalm 37. Take the time to read it through. Let us put our hand in the hand of Jesus. Jesus healed them all, calmed the seas, and fed the thousands.

Psalm 37:8 Cease for anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret-it only causes harm.

Oh let us cling to the unchanging hand of God.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
