Do we believe we are ALL created in God’s image? Do we believe God is Creator of all things? Can we learn from others mistakes? The Egyptians became afraid of the large number of Hebrews so they began to treat them as slaves; even killing their sons who were born to them. This king did not remember how a Hebrew named Joseph saved all Egypt and more during a seven year famine. God’s servant a foreigner served God in righteousness and integrity. Daniel served Nebuchadnezzar with righteousness and integrity and brought glory to God. Are we listening?
Exodus 22:21 You shall not mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Exodus 23:9 Also, you shall not oppress a stranger for you know the heart of a stranger, because you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Leviticus 19:34 The stranger who dwells among you shall be as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD YOUR GOD.
Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God.
There is hope! Are we listening? Will we listen?
2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Will we learn from those things in our past? Will we deny our history? Lord, God help us.
Ecclesiastes 1:10-11 Is there anything of which it may be said, “See this is new?” It has already been in ancient times before us. There is no remembrance of former things, nor will there be any remembrance of things that are to come by those who will come after.
It is ok to make mistakes. We can learn from them, correct and do better. Do we want to?
