Mark 15:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
What does gospel mean? It means good news.
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him who brings the good news, Who proclaims peace, who brings good tidings, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, your God reigns.
Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”
God’s word tells us we are not the judge of unbelievers but we are to bring the good news of our Lord and Savior. How are we to do that?
1 Peter 3:15-16 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear, having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.
We are to love God. We show our love for Him by obeying His commandments. Jesus said “if you love Me keep My commandments” in Joh 14:15. It is by the gift of the Holy Spirit we are even able to try to do this task. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and turns us in the right direction if we are careful to listen. We are told to love our neighbors as ourselves and we are told all people are our neighbors. The label christian came about in time because they recognized them as Christ followers. Do people recognize us as Christ followers by our words and actions?
Lord, Thank You for Your Word and Your teaching. In Jesus name help us to walk in your ways that all would see You in us. Amen
