Grace Abounds:

Grace Abounds:

Romans 5:20  Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did much more bound.

Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.

Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding 6) but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall make your path straight.

Exodus 16:4  Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.”

1 Kings 17:2-5  Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah, “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Keith ravine, east of the Jordan.” 4 You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.

1 Kings 17:8-16 8 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah saying 9 Arise go to Zarepath which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 10 So he arose and went to Zarepath and when he came to the gate of the city indeed a there was a widow gathering sticks and he called to her and said, “please bring me a little water in a cup that I may drink” 11 and as she was going to get it, he called to her and said ” please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” 12 So she said “as the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in  a bin and a little oil in a jar. See I am gathering a couple sticks that I may go and prepare it for my son and myself that we may eat it and die.” 13 Elijah said to her ” Do not fear; go and do as you said but make me a small cake from it first and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel : ” The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.” 15 So she went and did according to the word of Elijah and she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The bin of flour was not used up nor did the jar of oil run dry according to the Word of the Lord which He spoke to Elijah.

We see in these scriptures that God provides for all that we need but we have to trust Him and follow Him.  God provided mana from heaven for forty years to feed his children in the desert and they still sinned against God. He provided quail for meat and water from a rock in the desert for His people. Their clothes did not wear out nor their shoes. They walked for forty years yet their feet did not swell. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:25  “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on.” He is our provider. I remember I kept thinking I wanted new panties but money was tight and I didn’t want to spend the money for them. Suddenly I found myself receiving a lot of free panty coupons. I had more panties than I needed and shared with my daughter. The Lord provides us with a job, wisdom to do that job. He will direct us in the best purchases for the money He has given into our hands. The thing is we have to ask and believe He will do those things we have asked.

It was accounted to Abraham as righteousness because He believed God.  In these times coming it is going to be important for us to trust in the Lord completely! To know His word and be prepared to stand for Him and to lean on Him. God has promised His people He will take care of them.

Isaiah 43:19-21  19 Behold I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. 20 The beast of the field will honor me, the jackals and the Ostriches, because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert to give drink to My people, My chosen. 21 This people I have formed for myself; they shall declare My praise.

We are promised He will never leave us nor forsake us. Jesus has said in God’s word we will have trouble in this world but trust in Him our Savior to bring us to an expected end of life eternal life in peace and love forever with Him for He has overcome the world.

Lord I thank You that Your promises are true and this You have shown us in Your word. You have provided for Your people all through history. You Lord have shown me personally Your provision even in my wants. Lord forgive me for not being content with what You have provided. Lord help me to be thankful for all things from the largest to the smallest.

In Jesus precious name.

Amen

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
