Some say and believe God’s word is hard to understand, difficult to read. That is a lie the devil wants you to believe. I felt the same way at one time. I was praying for a closer walk with Jesus. God showed me none too gently that came from knowing His word. I cried out “I don’t understand Proverbs can’t You come down and explain it to me?” He did. He opened my heart, my mind, and removed the blinders of old beliefs. Do you really want a closer walk with God? It does mean your life will change in some very dramatic ways.
Jude warns: Jude 1:4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago, were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus warns: Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
Paul says: 2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God a worker who does not need to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.
Jesus says: Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. for everyone who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
God says: Jeremiah 33:3 Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.
Paul said: Act:17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
Lord, We thank You for Your word. I thank You for the scars that lead me to know You through Your word, prayer, grace, and mercy. Lord, there is so very much for us to learn from You and from your word. Please increase in us this desire to know Your word so we are set on Your solid foundation. Please speak to our hearts and minds to know and discern Your word rightly. Prick us to go and search for what is true when we hear something false. Also let us know when we are being corrected to turn from evil and do good. Let our words and actions reflect Your love and truth. In Jesus name amen
