Humbleness

“I am a foreigner and a visitor among you. Give me property for a burial place among you that I may bury my dead out of your sight.” And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying. “Hear us, my lord; Your are a mighty prince among us; bury your dead in the choicest of our burial places. None of us will withhold from you his burial place, that you may bury your dead.” Then Abraham stood up and bowed himself to the people of the land, the sons of Heth.

God had promised all this land to the descendants of Abraham. Abraham lived in this land of the gentiles / pagans that God had promised Abraham. He lived among them with such humbleness, integrity, honesty, righteousness; that these people called him a prince, they called him my lord.

1 Peter 2:12 Having your conduct honorable among the gentiles, that when they speak against you as evil doers, they may by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Romans 3:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Lord, this day we thank You for Your word. Yes, Lord, it is a perfect guide to us today. Your teaching is amazing. Lord, in Jesus name help us to learn from it humbly knowing You are our creator and love us so much You left your perfect word, sent Your perfect Son, and the perfect gift of Your Holy Spirit. You did not leave us ever on our own to figure things out. You promised to never leave us nor forsake us. Thank You will never be enough for all Your blessings. All glory, and honor, and praise to our God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. Amen

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
