Injustice?

Are we awake to injustice? God called Jeremiah as a prophet not only to Judah and Jerusalem but to all nations. God is not the God to some but the God of ALL. God sent His only begotten Son that the world might be saved. Aren’t we the greatest benefactors of God’s love? All who were not Jews were considered Gentiles. The Jewish people were and are God’s chosen people. Only by God’s grace, love and mercy are we able to come to God threw His Son Jesus. Jeremiah listed, at God’s command Israel, Judah and Jerusalem’s sins and went on to speak to the other nations. God called Jeremiah to be a prophet to all nations. One of those sins was the social injustice against the poor and needy. They would not listen to Jeremiah and turn from their sin. The rich only wanted to hear what the false prophets told them. Jeremiah spoke what God gave him and he also wept for all the people at their coming destruction.

Ezekiel 9:6 “Utterly slay old and young men, maidens, and little children and women; But do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple.

God starts with His people first. Will we heed God’s word or will we reject it as God’s people did then?

Isaiah 3:15 What do you mean by crushing My people and grinding the faces of the poor? Says the Lord God of Hosts.

God gave His Word and it tells us the history of that time and gives us His direction. We cannot rewrite history but we can learn from it.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ALL Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, throughly equipped for every GOOD work.

Are we awake to injustice? Are we awake to God’s Word? Are we awake to Jesus teaching? Whom will we choose to follow?

James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: To visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and keep oneself unspotted from the world.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
