Jesus Prayed

If Jesus prayed how much more should we pray?

Luke 5:16 So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.

Jesus loves His Father. To spend time with Him is important to Him. He told us that He did what He saw the Father do.

John 15:19-20 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these that you may marvel.

God loves the world that He made and wants us to follow Him that we may live. That we may have eternal life. In the desert He was a cloud by day to protect them from the suns heat and a fire by night to protect them from the deserts cold. God fed them with a perfectly balanced food for their physical bodies. If God so loved them, He still loves all His creation. Will we spend time with the One who loves us the most? Will we study His word so we may know this is the way walk in it?

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”

Jesus prayed for for us, He wanted to gather the people as a hen gathers her chicks to protect them. If He loves us that much; how much more should we love each other?

Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings but you were not willing!”

Will we become willing?

John 17:20-21 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for all those who believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.”

Do we acknowledge Him, check in with Him before we speak, before we act? Will we?

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Pray without ceasing isn’t long drawn-out prayers. It is staying connected in our hearts and thoughts to the One true God who knows us and all things past, present, and future. God is God. God is not on our small level but above all, the Creator of all. Will we trust Him?

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
