How often do we put ourselves in the judgement seat? How often do we decide to do only the work of God? Maybe we think God isn’t moving fast enough? Maybe we think we have been appointed judge and jury?
God did not appoint anyone to judge or to punish Sodom & Gomorrah; God did this Himself. God was still merciful to one family. God did not destroy Israel but God did bring those nations against Israel that Israel decided to worship the idol gods of those nations. God was merciful and did not destroy His people that He had called to be a light to other nations. It was God’s mercy.
Are we going to be a light for Jesus love? Are we going to take God’s judgement into our own hands?
John 14:15 If you love me keep My commandments.
Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Jesus said, “He who is without sin cast the first stone.” The only one who could cast that stone was Jesus. Jesus chose to forgive, to be merciful, and show compassion.
What will we choose?
