Jesus said His sheep would know His voice and follow Him. Jesus left us His teaching the words of God the Father and walked them out Himself. Do we know our Savior’s voice? Are we listening? Are we studying to know Jesus way? When people are taught to know the difference between real and counterfeit money they are taught exactly what REAL money looks and feels like. They focus on the real thing! Will we focus on the real word of God, on Jesus teachings?
John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
Who’s voice are we following in our daily lives?
Ezekiel 33:30-32 As for you, son of man the children of your people are talking about you beside the walls and in the doors of the houses, and they speak to one another, everyone saying to his brother; ‘please come and hear what the word is that comes from the Lord.’ So they come to you as people do, they sit before before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain. Indeed you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they do not do them.
James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearer’s only, deceiving yourselves.
Matthew 7:15-16 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruit.
We are not to be gullible and believe every word but to watch to see what fruit is being produced for God’s kingdom. Will we study to know God’s word so we know our Good Shepherd Jesus Christ and bear the fruit of the Spirit?
