Do we know Jesus? Do we know God the Father? Will we seek to know them? Will we follow blindly like sheep to the slaughter a preacher, teacher, politician, or another who claims to know God? Do we follow blindly? Will we follow the Good Shepherd?
The sadducees who were learned in the Law of God were rebuked by Jesus:
Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.”
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach.
2 Timothy 2:14-16 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babbling, for they will increase to more ungodliness.
James 3:16-18 For where envy and self seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. BUT the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
Will we seek to know Jesus way?
Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, AND SEARCHED THE SCRIPTURE DAILY TO FIND OUT WHETHER THESE THINGS WERE SO.
The devil wants us believing and moving before we have time to see the truth or the ugliness under the sweet lies. A half truth is still a lie. Jesus rebuked satan for his half truth about God’s word in Matthew 4. Jesus pointed to the works He did as proof He is who He said.
John 10:37-38 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father.
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
Are we hearers or doers? What fruit are we bearing?
James 1:22 But be doers of the word and not hears only, deceiving yourselves.
Are we guarding our hearts and minds with God’s word?
Matthew 24:43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would have come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life our Good Shepherd.
John 14:15 If you love Me keep My commandments.
Lord, We need You! Please let Your wisdom fall on Your people that we may know Your Leading and Your word! It is written.
