God knows all things. Do we think anything is hidden from God? Do we believe God will not expose and punish our hidden sins?
Ezekiel 9:4-6 And the Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sign and cry over all the abomination done within it.” To the others He said in my hearing, “Go after him through the city and kill; do not let your eye spare, nor have pity. Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; AND BEGIN AT MY SANCTUARY.” SO THEY BEGAN WITH THE ELDERS WHO WERE BEFORE THE TEMPLE.
God is the reader of all hearts. Yes, God protects His people but He rebukes and punishes them as well and if we are fortunate brings us to repentance. Do we make excuses? Remember God knows all things! We are none without sin. Being rebuked, corrected, and held accountable isn’t pleasant. Forgiveness, new life, hope and restoration brings peace. We see many being exposed for their sins in high places. Will we repent and turn and change? Though we stumble God is merciful and will forgive.
Luke 12:47 And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
James 4:17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? Unless indeed you are disqualified.
In Revelation God’s people, not the gentiles were warned to turn from their sin. They were warned to repent. Will we turn to the only One who can change us and give us a new heart? God fix me. Help me acknowledge You in all my ways for only You can keep me from falling.
