Knowing False Prophets:
The bible talks about false prophets but How do We recognize them?
Matthews 7:15 Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep clothing but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
2 Corinthians 11:14-15 and no wonder for satin himself transforms himself into an angel of light. There for it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness. Whose end will be according to their works.
God’s word says: 1 John 4:1-2 Beloved do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2) By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus came in the flesh is not of God.
What about real people?
Many are deceived themselves. Those of us who feel unloved, hurt, or lonely can be their victims. I know I was one of those. I didn’t like reading God’s word much because there was so much killing. So I got pulled into groups like Reiki, oneness blessing, crystal energy, and angel readings. All of which are against God’s word. These things pull us away from God.
Ephesians 6:12 for we do not wrestle against things of flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. We have to be armed with God’s word against such things.
Finally after a very clear picture of the things that are attached to these kinds of activities that all seem harmless at first; I dug into God’s word. I finally learned that God is very patient with us but He does correct us. I am forever grateful He saved me. One important thing I learned is that God gave His people over 400 years to repent and leave behind their sin. How many of us can say that we would give any one a week or maybe a year to get our act together. I don’t know any employers that would do that.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
God is Love! All the fruits of the Spirit / God are who He is.
James 1:16-18 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from God above, and comes down from the Father of light with Whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.18 of His own will He brought us forth by His word of truth that we might be a kind of first fruits of His creation.
Any thing taught by some one that contradicts God’s word is from the devil. We have the 10 commandments and these verses are really clear:
Proverbs 6:16-19
16) These 6 things the Lord hates, Yes seven are an abomination to Him:
17) a proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood.
18) A heart that devises wicked plans. (Jesus teaches us in the book of Matthew that sin is first conceived in the mind and we can stop it there) Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19) a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.
God’s word will be opened to those who truly want to learn of Him. I have learned He is the God who sees me and knows me better than I know me. He is my creator. Jesus sees our heart.
God loves me and corrects me to keep me safe. I have learned of His healing and tender care of me that some times makes me weep that such an amazing God who created all things cares for me in even the smallest of needs and even my desires. Though His correction can be hard when walking through it and I haven’t always understood what is going on. As I move through the trail and change, some times when I am recovering I can then see where or what He brought me out of or was teaching me. I have been grateful for each new change / growth.
Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
