Lamenations?

This isn’t an often studied book of the Bible, yet it is very relevant. God told His people what would come upon them if they did not obey His commandments and walk in His ways and what would come if they did. Yet our Heavenly Father is merciful and forgives even in His judgement. Read Deuteronomy 28-29 and what God told Solomon in 1 Kings 9. Then think on the things we are seeing today. There is no judgement but God’s. God is the reader of our hearts. In the book of Judges God’s judgement and mercy are seen in the punishment and His forgiveness.

Laminations 3:21-23 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Ezekiel 18:23 “Do I take pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, and not that he should turn from his ways and live?”

Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, Turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O House of Israel?’

Proverbs 24:17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles.

Matthew 5:44-45 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes the sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

Will we choose to obey God’s commandments, His word?

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart , O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Amen

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
