Acts 2:6-7 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because every one heard them speak in his own language. Then they were amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look are not these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear; each in his own language in which we were born.”
These people heard the apostles speak in their own language not in babbling randomness. Yes, there is spoken about the language of angels. We are told not to concern ourselves much with angels. We are not to pray to them or worship them. When God sends His angels to speak a message to us they speak in our language. Not once in all scripture does it say that angels caused humans to speak in their language. We do well to stay away from this sort of thing for there are spirits that can and do pose as angels of God.
2 Corinthians 11:14-15 And no wonder, for satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according their works.
So there are those lead away by satan who are the false prophets. They twist God’s word and leave out bits so that then we are lead astray. Many of God’s servants died so that we could have His true word; so that we are not lead astray by every trend or doctrine.
2 Timothy 2:15-17 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babbling, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philelus are of this sort.
Ephesians 4:14-15 That they should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head of Christ.
The apostles were commissioned: Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came to them saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen”
The apostles of Jesus were told to go to every nation and to teach. They would need to be able to speak to them in their language. Still it says Acts 2:4 and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues / languages, as the SPIRIT GAVE THEM UTTERANCE.
Lord, Thank You for Your every gift. Thank You for those You sent before that we may have Your Holy Word to teach us. In Jesus name pour out a fresh desire on Your people to know and discern Your word rightly; that we may not cause pain but that we may bring You glory, and honor, and praise. Amen
