Last Days?

What are the “last days”? We use this term and feel it more in times of great troubles. What does the reference “Last days” refer to? What does Scripture say? We have the measurement of time which is, “before Christ, and after Christ.” This was the great changing of time. Jesus our King, High Priest forever, the Son of God whose kingdom and dominion never end.

Daniel 7:13-14 I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed.

Hebrews 1:1-4 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in “these last days” spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, being made so much better than the angels, as He by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

WE none know the day or the hour of Jesus return. We none know the day or hour of our own death. We do know God is long suffering and merciful and Jesus will return and in fact never leave us orphans.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering towards us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make our home with him.”

Acts1:10-11 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Should we get on with the Father’s business? Love Jesus by obeying His commandments?

2 Peter 3:14 Therefore, beloved looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;

John 14:15 If you love Me keep My commandments.

All commandments were given to those who believe. Will we walk in such a way that those who don’t yet believe will come to repentance and believe and love Jesus?

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
