God gave Moses the Ten Commandments for His chosen people. The law was set forth for them for their good. The law would help them live in peace and bring life to them. We love God by obeying God’s laws. Is there any one of us who can say, “The Ten Commandments of God are harmful or bad?” Think about this: these same laws rule in all countries. Stealing is a crime, murder is a crime, defrauding someone is a crime, abandonment is a crime, domestic abuse is a crime, and we can sue because someone slanders our reputation with lies.
Proverbs 13:14 The Law of the wise is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death.
Proverbs 9:10-11 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by Me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.
Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.
