Let Me Stay❤️

Do we often think or even speak that nothing can pull us away from Jesus? Do we think “I will” or “I can?” There was a time I kept thinking, “I choose You Jesus,” that some how I could make it so. The Spirit spoke a scripture to me after a few days off this that brought me to tears and let me know it wasn’t about me choosing Jesus but about Him choosing me.

John 15:16-17 “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another.”

Peter was so sure of himself. Did you catch that? Peter was so sure of “himself.” How many times are we so sure of ourselves? How many times do we ignore the Spirits prompting, the spirits nudge? Maybe it is a sinking feeling, or a clear rebuke, or a scripture that suddenly comes to mind. Jesus knows each of us personally and completely. Jesus knows how to reach each of us in the best way. Jesus plainly told Peter he would deny Him three times before the cock crowed. Do you think Peter believed Jesus? Peter still denied Jesus even with clear warning before hand. Yes, this is my prayer often now, “Jesus let me stay.” We none can do this on our own. It is by the grace and love of God. We are all one step from the ditch. Pride goes before a fall. King David was a man after God’s own heart and Solomon was the wisest king to live before Jesus. They still faltered and fell into sin and paid heavy consequences. I was lead by the Spirit to read Psalm 119 three times. I love this Psalm now. David poured out his heart to God admitting that he could not follow God by his own power but that it was God who could lead and save him. Though I love the whole Psalm a verse comes to mind often.

Psalm 119:5 Oh, That my ways were directed to keep Your statutes!

David looked to God to direct him. Will we look to God for direction? Are we listening?

Psalm 121:1-3 I will lift my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

Psalm 66:8-9 Oh, bless our God you peoples! And make the voice of His praise to be heard, who keeps our soul among the living, and does not allow our feet to be moved.

Lord, let us stay, lead us in Your way everlasting, write Your word upon our hearts, and keep us humble and our hearts soft to Your voice, to Your Spirit for You alone keep our feet from slipping. In Jesus name amen.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
