Lies

Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things the Lord hates, Yes seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.

Proverbs 10:19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.

Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight.

Proverbs 19:9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who speaks lies shall perish.

Proverbs 19:5 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who speaks lies will not escape.

Genesis 12:11-13 And it came to pass, when he was close to entering Egypt, that he said to Sarai his wife, “Indeed, I know you are a woman of beautiful countenance. Therefore it will happen, when the Egyptians see you they will say, this is his wife,” and they will kill me, but they will let you live. Please say you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that I may live because of you.

Genesis 12:17-19 But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram’s wife. And Pharaoh called Abram and said, “What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me she was your wife? Why did you say “she is my sister?” I might have taken her as my wife. Now therefore, here is your wife; take her and go your way.

Matthew 26:59-60 Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward.

Matthew 7:15-16 Beware false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles.

Colossians 3:9-10 Do not lie one to another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.

Colossians 3:14 But above all these put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

Colossians 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you my know how you ought to answer each one.

Have you ever lied to someone? Have you been lied to? Has someone lied about you? I would guess that most of us has had experiences with these things. Didn’t feel real good right? There is no white or black or half truths. They are all lies. Even those about people we don’t even know such as movie stars, politicians, the neighbors down the street you haven’t met yet. No matter who you or they are it doesn’t feel good and it’s against God’s will for His children.

Lord, Your Word is truth. Help us Your children to come out from among the world and be a separate people for You. Living in Your will and Your way. Yes Lord, I am seeing the road less traveled is narrow but in You all things are possible. Let us hear Your voice this is the way walk in it.

Love Your neighbor as yourself! All mankind is created in the image of God. God’s creation. In Jesus name amen

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
