Looking Out?

Are we looking out at what is going on in the world? Are we looking to Jesus, God the Father? As we read God’s word we find He tells us His prophets, His people did both. King David in the book of Psalm tells of David’s sadness and sorrow and distress as well as recognizing God’s grace, mercy, love, glory, and sovereignty over all creation. Jeremiah was known as the weeping prophet. Jesus wept over Lazarus the one He loved and Jesus wept over His people wanting to gather them as a hen gathers her chicks to protect them. Jesus asked the Father to forgive them for they knew not what they did. Yes, we are looking out and yet, let us remember then to look to our Creator and Redeemer, Jesus the perfect Son of God who was given authority over all heaven and earth and is NOW King of kings and Lord of lords.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given Me in heaven and earth.”

Psalm 50:12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is Mine and all its fullness.

Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God;

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Can we endure and truly hold to what is right in Jesus eyes and walk in Jesus ways? Jesus called us to love one another, not to judge another. Jesus called us to love our enemies as well as our neighbors not judge them. God is the only righteous judge. Let him who is without sin throw the first stone.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
