Luke 6:46 But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord’ and not do the things which I say?
Philippians 2:8-10 And being in the appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross. Therefore God also exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those under the earth.
1 John 2:3-6 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in Him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. He who says he abides in Him ought to himself also to walk just as He walked.
Truly if we look into all we are given in God’s word that He did we see He walked in love towards all people. Loving His neighbor as Himself so all could come to the Father. He always spoke the truth in love. He did not retaliate or return evil actions or words with others. He spoke the truth of His Father’s word and lived by them.
1 Peter 3:9 not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
Romans 12:17-19 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Be loved do not avenge yourselves but rather give place to the wrath for it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay” says the Lord.
I learned about this one time when I got my feelings hurt by the way I was being treated by those I thought loved me. Instead of making a scene and confronting them I cried out to God. Crying I said, “You told me to bring all things to You.” He knew my hurt but also their heart and motives. I heard ” vengeance is Mine says the Lord.” I smile at this now, but then I didn’t understand so I said; “Lord I didn’t mean kill them.” As I watched God’s hand moved in bringing truth to light and peace instead of anger. God is the only one who knows and can read our hearts.
Lord, Thank You that it is You who knows each of us perfectly. In Jesus name help us to look to You and accept Your correction and healing. Blessed is our perfect Redeemer, Savior, Mighty Counselor, forever and ever You do not change. In You is only light.
