I was awakened last night thinking about God’s love. My thoughts were about who God is:
Job 42:2 I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.
Job 41:11 Who has preceded Me, that I should pay him? Everything under heaven is Mine.
My thoughts went to how much God loves me/us. All that He has done and does for me, what He has brought me through. His gentleness at times has made me weep that He would see me. His correction I have come to love for He keeps me safe. He reminded me of these scriptures:
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and LOVE, and a sound mind.
John 3:16 For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Since God loves us this way being God the Creator of all things, how much more should we love others? We are all sinners. When we condemn others we condemn ourselves. Jesus loves us so much He forgives and restores us to our Heavenly Father . Jesus gave His life to gain ours. Should we not treat others with love, gentleness, goodness, kindness, respect, and caring? Should we use our words to encourage and lift up? God is God over all and still treats us with love, compassion, and mercy. How much more should we follow His example and leave the judgement to the One who knows all things?
Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
It is hard to know the truth in this world. We can know the truth of God’s word and how He wants us to be His separate people.
Isaiah 30:21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “this is the way walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.
Those in the world want to increase fear, hate, and blaming. They want us moving quickly to spread it before we even have time to question or wait for God to reveal the truth. The devil comes to steal kill and destroy. The devil is the father of lies. Can we put aside all these things and pray and truly trust God no matter what is going on around us? Can we focus on who God is and rejoice knowing He knows the plan and He never fails? We need the wisdom and understanding and knowledge of God’s word. He left us an historical account of Him and His people. Will we heed His teaching?
Blessed be our King and Savior forever and ever for all things will pass away but the word of God lasts forever! Thank You Jesus for loving us, for dying for us even though we were yet in our sin. Amen
