LOVE

We hear and read in God’s Word that “God is Love.” Do others see God in us? Do others see Love in us? God called Himself Israel’s Husband, Jesus is Bridegroom to all who believe in Him. Should earthly husbands imitate Jesus our true Husband for eternity? Jesus gave and left us a perfect example of a true husband. Jesus forgave, loved, healed, fed, was gentle, kind and taught all who came to Him.

Isaiah 54:5 For your Maker is your Husband, the Lord of Hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Mark 10:7-8 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become on flesh; so then they are no longer two but one flesh.

If they are to be one should not we treat each other as Jesus would have us treat each other? To live as if we are the temple of God’s Holy Spirit?

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.

Ephesians 5:28-29 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

Jesus loved and gave His life that we all might be saved. Jesus came to serve. As humans we are none perfect but we can strive to be kinder, gentler, more caring. Jesus the perfect Son of God set aside His ego and came humbly to do the Fathers will and to serve us all that we may have eternal life. What do our children witness in our homes?

Ephesians 5:1-2 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling aroma.

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Malachi 2:13-15 And this is the second thing you do: you cover the alter of the Lord with tears, with weeping and crying; So He does not regard the offering anymore, nor receive it with goodwill from your hands. Yet, you say, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, with whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet, she is your companion and your wife by covenant. But did He not make them one, having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirits and let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.

How man behaves and what God requires can be in conflict. Will we work to bring our behavior inline with God’s will? God’s Word left us a history of good and evil, of right and wrong. Should we not take God’s way and apply it to our lives?

Isaiah 30:21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “this is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left hand.

Are we listening?

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
