The church of Ephesus had left its first love. When we say church this is not a building but God’s people. A building cannot leave its first love. How do we leave our first love? The Ephesians were diligent workers for Jesus but they got caught up in doing more than loving. Do we get caught up in volunteering, working, and doing because we think we are supposed to? Do we feel our hearts moved by love for those we are helping? To love Jesus we must love others for God’s commandments are summed up in love your neighbor as yourself. This isn’t a volunteering and doing thing it is an every day walk.
John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
With all that is going on in the world are we becoming numb to it? Is it becoming normal to us?
Romans 12:9 Let love be without hypocrisy, abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
Romans 12 :21 Do not be overcome with evil but overcome evil with good.
Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Romans 14:19 Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things which one may edify another.
May we be a light in the dark for Jesus.
