Hosea 6:6 For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Psalm 41:1-4 Blessed is he who considers the poor, the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his sickbed, I said “Lord, be merciful to me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”
Leviticus 23:22 When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field when you reap, nor shall gather any gleanings from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the Lord your God.
Leviticus 19:10 And you shall not glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the Lord your God.
Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means: I require mercy and not sacrifice.
Ephesians 4:28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
Malachi 3:10 Bring all the tithes into my storehouse. That there may be food in My house and try Me now in this says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing that there will not be room to receive it.
Lord, I thank You for Your outpouring of blessings on all Your people. Lord helping the poor doesn’t look like it used to. Please open our eyes and lead us each to where we can help. Let us be a blessing and stretch out our hand to lift up those in need. In Jesus name amen
