Messy?

We are none perfect, far from it. As for me I often see myself as this little sheep with black spots on its face, the Lord’s prodigal child. I also, see myself as a little sheep that loves and dances around so excited when I see God’s hand on my life, and the little sheep who is so scared I am hiding under God’s beautiful robe and I can’t see me I just know I am there, and then I am a sheep that is holding onto the edge of God’s robe as He pulls me along the way He wants me to go patiently as I drag my feet. Life is messy. God walked with and still walks with messy people. The only perfect person, the Son of God is Jesus and He loved us enough to obey the Father perfectly even unto death. We can never know exactly what is going to happen in the next moment but God does. One day at a time. We need so much to read, to study, pray over and lean into God’s word and do what ever we can to walk in it with God in this messy, beautiful life He has given each of us. The eye cannot unsee what it has seen, so be careful what we watch, the ear cannot unhear what it has heard so be careful what we listen to and make sure we are checking God’s word for, “This is the way walk in it.” Remember good counsel and not only what we want to hear.

Isaiah 30:21 Your ears will hear a word behind you saying, “This is the way walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.

With me God will often bring scripture to mind in a situation. God’s word is our perfect guide.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Zechariah 4:6 So he answered and said to me: This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of hosts.’

We all are or can be distracted. Sheep wonder around, without the Shepherd they often wonder into danger.

Proverbs 3:11-12 My son do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction; for whom the Lord loves He corrects.

God is love, truth, just, thankfully merciful and calls His sheep / children to return to Him and welcomes them with open arms, yet we do have consequences for our words and actions. I pray we can learn from those consequences.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
